WASHINGTON New York Life earnings hit $2 billion for the first time in its history, marking the fifth consecutive year in which the company's earnings reached record highs. In releasing its 2014 earnings, New York Life reported a 14.7 percent increase in operating earnings for the year despite the low interest rate environment that has dampened profits on the entire financial services industry.
